Mint City Shootout 3 on 3 Basketball Rules 2025
REFEREE WILL KEEP SCORE and time.
Brackets are double elimination up until Championship Game. Championship game is final game.

Game time is forfeit time, pay attention to your bracket. All games can be tracked on Exposure Basketball Website.

Only those teams scheduled to play are allowed to occupy the court at the scheduled time.

Teams consist of 3 players with one sub allowed. All games may start and be completed with any number of players (3,2,1).

Substitutions can be made at any time that play is stopped.

Rosters are final as registered. No player substitutions allowed outside of roster.

There will be a coin toss, Rock/Paper/Scissors or any other justifiable alternative to figure out who has first possession.

The games will be played half court to 15, win by 2 or first team to 20. With a hard 20-minute time limit.

In the event of a tie at the time limit, the team who DID NOT HAVE 1st possession will get possession and the next basket wins the win by 2 rules does not apply.

1 point will be awarded for each basket scored from within the 3-point arc.

Shots from behind the 3-point arc will count as 2.

The ball changes possession each time, there is no straits or makes it take it.

Jump balls and held-balls will be awarded to defense.

Every change of possession, players must take it back to the 3-point line.

After a basket, out- of- bounds, violation, or foul, the offense must “check”
the ball with their opponent before play resumes and the ball must be passed to start play.

Referee will call all fouls, travels, double dribble, out of bounds etc.

7 FOUL LIMIT PER TEAM PER GAME. After 7 Fouls, fouled upon player gets 1 free throw (1 Point) change of possession upon scoring free throw.

FLAGRANT FOUL will result with 1 Free throw (1 Point) and ball possession.
FLAGRANT FOULS INCLUDE

A Contact Foul intended to hurt an opponent, fan or Game Official

Vulgar or verbally abusive behavior
-
Other misconduct deemed inappropriate by the Game Official (e.g. intentionally kicking the ball, etc....)

A contact foul designed to neutralize an opponent’s obvious advantageous position.

Fighting and/or ‘Throwing a Punch’ automatically results in a Flagrant Foul assessed against the players(s) involved. Free Throws will be awarded as described above and will result in immediate dismissal of the player(s) from the tournament.

Continuous misconduct, intentional and or flagrant fouling by a team or player may result in dismissal from the game or tournament at the discretion of the Game Official or other Tournament Official.

One (1) 90 second timeout per team per game. Clock is stopped for timeout.

A score sheet must be filled out and returned to the registration table at the conclusion
of each game. Winning team captain or coach is responsible for turning in.

NO DUNKING IS ALLOWED. Team will be disqualified for a player dunking during game, before or after. No dunking allowed – warm ups or games.

Jewelry (earrings, rings, watches, etc...), hats, bandanas, and/or casts are not allowed to be worn by players during tournament games. Any player that refuses to remove any such item prior to play, is not eligible to participate in that game.

Profanity is not allowed. (This is a family friendly event)

Any harassment to an official by player or spectator will not be tolerated. One warning will be given. The 2nd time the player or spectator must leave the tournament.

A Player may be removed from a game without warning if the player
is behaving inappropriately. We will have 0 TOLERANCE
for unnecessary contact and profanity.

etiquette, fair play, and ultimate adherence to the aforementioned policies and overall rules of
the game of basketball must be upheld by all participants at all times.
